Castelmola
Castelmola is a tiny village perched about 1000 metres above sea level and above the city of Taormina in Sicily. There is a precipitous path leading to it and from its walls one may see Mt Etna, snow capped, puffing in the distance about 20 miles away. This painting emanates from a visit there in December 2005 and draws it's inspiration from a rusty roadsign.
The town's patron saint and protector of it's ancient church is St George which pleased myself and Georgina, it being our honeymoon (luna di miele) when we visited.
